Clay was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Clay remains in the Mets organization after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being cast off the 40-man roster over the weekend. The southpaw has made seven relief appearances at the big-league level in 2022 between the Nationals and Mets, striking out five while giving up five earned runs on four hits and four walks over 5.1 innings.
