The Nationals requested unconditional release waivers Friday on Senzel.
The move hardly comes as a surprise after Washington designated Senzel for assignment last weekend. The 29-year-old posted a .209/.303/.359 slash line in 64 games with the Nationals and will now look to latch on elsewhere for the second half, though he may need to settle for a minor-league contract.
