Tyler will remain with Triple-A El Paso after he cleared waivers Thursday.

Tyler was designated for assignment by the Padres on Monday, but he has since cleared waivers and will stay with El Paso. The reliever has produced a 5.51 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 16.1 innings in 11 appearances, including two starts at Triple-A. He last appeared in the majors in 2021, tossing 12.1 frames with the Angels while compiling a 2.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with six punchouts.
