Padres' Mike Clevinger: Throws bullpen Tuesday

Clevinger (elbow) threw a 23-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

After throwing an extended catch session Monday, Clevinger took the mound Tuesday and mixed all of his pitches during his bullpen session. His status for the postseason still hasn't been determined, but the Padres are "cautiously optimistic" that he could be available to pitch Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series if necessary.
