Padres' Tom Cosgrove: Shielded from Rule 5 draft

Cosgrove was added to the Padres' 40-man roster Tuesday.

San Diego wants to protect Cosgrove from the upcoming Rule 5 draft, so it bumped him up to the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old split the 2022 campaign between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso, and he had a 3.72 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 82:28 K:BB across 55.2 frames.
