Curtis was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Tuesday.

Curtis has an excellent 1.86 ERA in 9.2 innings for the Phillies this season, though his underlying numbers don't support that success, as he's walked as many batters as he's struck out (10). The move makes room on the 40-man roster for deadline-day acquisition Wilson Ramos.
