Gamel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Phillies.
Gamel took Connor Brogdon yard in the seventh inning to tally his sixth homer of the season. It was only his second home run since July 10 -- spanning 39 games -- and he's also hit .239 with 19 RBI and 12 runs scored in that span. Even with the Pirates' efforts to get a look at a number of players within their system, Gamel has retained an everyday role.
