Pirates' Ka'ai Tom: Suffers setback

Tom (back) recently aggravated his back injury and will be shut down until early next week, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Tom resumed baseball activities in early July, and the team was optimistic that he'd be able to return shortly after the All-Star break. However, he's now returned to Pittsburgh, and he isn't expected to resume baseball activities until early next week. It's not yet clear when the 27-year-old will be able to return to game action.
