Pirates' Phillip Evans: Sent to minors

Evans was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Evans' latest stint on the active roster lasted just four days. He's spent most of the season at the big-league level but has failed to impress at the plate, hitting .206/.312/.299 in 76 games. Cody Ponce was recalled to take his place on the roster.
