Lohse was designated for assignment Tuesday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Lohse was rocked in two major league starts recently, giving up six and seven earned runs, respectively, on his way to two losses and the Rangers decided to bump him from the 40-man roster. If the 37-year-old doesn't get picked up by another big league club during his waiver period, he'll likely remain with Triple-A Round Rock where he's compiled a 5.06 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 10 starts this season.
