Taveras (knee) is starting in center field and batting ninth Monday versus the Cardinals.
Taveras missed Sunday's contest with a bruised knee, but he'll return to the lineup after just one absence. Since May 20, the outfielder has secured at least one hit in 10 out of his last 13 games, batting .347 with two homers, nine RBI and eight runs scored over that stretch.
