Rays' Joe Odom: DFA'd by Tampa Bay

Odom was designated for assignment by the Rays on Friday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

The 29-year-old's contract was selected by the Rays last weekend, and he went 0-for-2 in two games during his brief time with the team. Even if he remains in the organization, Odom is unlikely to rejoin the big-league club while Mike Zunino and Francisco Mejia remain healthy.
