Rays' Ryan Thompson: Returns to majors

Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays needed six pitchers to get through Wednesday's loss to the Phillies, so they're bringing in Thompson as a fresh bullpen arm. He's posted a 5.94 ERA in 17 appearances with Tampa Bay in 2023.
