Hamilton's contract was purchased from Triple-A Worcester prior to Thursday's game against the Twins, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
The 28-year-old catcher slashed .180/.284/.310 in 30 games at Triple-A. Hamilton should serve as Connor Wong's backup while Reese McGuire is on the injured list with an oblique strain.
