Red Sox's Jaylin Davis: DFA'd on Monday

The Red Sox designated Davis for assignment Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Davis, who's been in the minors since Aug. 15, loses his 40-man roster spot. Despite going 8-for-24 in 12 games with Boston this season, the outfielder doesn't appear likely to generate much interest on waivers.
