Davis was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Saturday.
Davis played in nine games at Triple-A Worcester after being sent down in early May, and he hit .200 with a home run, two doubles, three runs and three RBI. He'll be cast off the 40-man roster to make room for Rich Hill (illness), who was reinstated from the COVID-19 IL.
