Friedl (hamstring) took batting practice Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Friedl is just a couple days removed from landed on the injured list with a strained left hamstring, so it's a good sign that he's already taking BP. The 27-year-old will need to continue to progress with his workouts, most notably showing he can run without issues, but it would appear he has a shot to return when first eligible.
