Sandy Leon: Released by Texas

Leon was released by the Rangers on Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Having been outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock earlier this month, Leon requested his release and it was ultimately granted. The veteran catcher slashed just .146/.186/.195 in 21 games (44 plate appearances) this year for Texas prior to losing his 40-man roster spot.
