Tigers' Javier Baez: Late scratch Thursday

Baez was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals due to right thumb soreness.

Baez was initially slated to return to action Thursday, but he'll ultimately be a late scratch for a second consecutive day. Harold Castro will start at shortstop and bat eighth, while Baez should be considered day-to-day.
