The Twins selected Rodriguez from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
With Tyler Mahle (elbow) shifting to the 60-day injured list Friday, Rodriguez will fill the open 40-man roster spot. The 30-year-old reliever holds a 4.66 ERA and 1.31 WHIP through 19.1 innings in Triple-A. The Twins will likely use him in a multi-inning relief role, but he could also be used as a starter if necessary.
