White Sox's Matt Purke: Sent to Triple-A

Purke was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Purke didn't record an out in his appearance Wednesday, allowing a walk and a hit before being pulled. He's struggled with walks (12 in 18 innings) and owns a 6.00 ERA after both of his baserunners came around to score. The team has yet to announce his replacement on the 25-man roster, but that news should come prior to Thursday's series finale against the Twins.
