Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Sitting out with thumb injury
Chisholm (thumb) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies.
Chisholm had to be lifted from Tuesday's contest against the Rockies after hurting his right thumb on a slide into second base. He is listed among the Yankees' reserves on the lineup card, so Chisholm has avoided a trip to the injured list for the time being. Jose Caballero is stepping in at second base in Chisholm's stead.

Donovan Walton 2B | ATH
Athletics' Donovan Walton: Drives sixth homer
Walton went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
Walton roped a solo homer off Jose Soriano in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 4-2, though no further comeback ensued for the Athletics. The journeyman infielder has started each of the past five contests at second base, going 3-for-15 (.200) during that stretch. In 76 games between the Angels and Athletics this season, Walton is hitting .272/.380/.451 with six homers, 23 RBI, 33 runs and two stolen bases.

Kody Clemens 2B | MIN
Twins' Kody Clemens: Slugs homer No. 25
Clemens went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Tigers.
The 30-year-old slugger played hero Tuesday, taking Drew Anderson deep in the sixth inning to flip the script on a 2-1 deficit. Clemens has reached 25 homers on the season for the first time in his career, and four of them have come in the last 11 games -- a stretch in which he sports a .243/.370/.568 slash line with seven RBI and eight runs.

Nicky Lopez 2B | TEX
Rangers' Nicky Lopez: Makes first start in weeks
Lopez started at second base and went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 10-5 win over Seattle.
Lopez made his first start since Aug. 19. At one point, he was the primary second baseman, but he's fallen into a part-time role since the middle of August. That dip in playing time coincides with an ineffective bat; Lopez entered Tuesday's contest with a .136/.197/.186 slash line over his 68 plate appearances.

Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE
Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Heating up
Bazzana went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Orioles.
Bazzana launched a three-run shot in the second inning as the Guardians raced to a 6-0 lead after three innings. The rookie has hit safely in four consecutive games, going 7-for-14 with two doubles, two homers and eight RBI during that run. Bazzana's bat is showing life once again after a languid August (.566 OPS).

Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Managing thumb injury
Chisholm was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rockies due to a thumb injury, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.
Chisholm injured his thumb while sliding into second base during the top of the ninth, and he was removed from the game in the bottom of the inning. Manager Aaron Boone said the 28-year-old's thumb was still feeling numb after the game, so the team will wait to see how he feels Wednesday before determining his availability. Jose Caballero would presumably pick up starts at second base if Chisholm is unable to play.

Nick Madrigal 2B | TB
Rays' Nick Madrigal: Added to MLB roster
The Rays selected Madrigal's contract from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
The 29-year-old joined Tampa Bay on a minor-league deal in late June and will now get a look with the big club. Madrigal posted a .273/.385/.295 slash line in 52 plate appearances for the Angels earlier this season and was hitting well for Durham with an .818 OPS in 47 contests. He'll provide infield depth to help cover the loss of Taylor Walls (hip), who was placed on the injured list Tuesday.

Hao Yu Lee 2B | DET
Tigers' Hao-Yu Lee: First day off since Aug. 18
Lee is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Gleyber Torres will cover second base in the series opener while Lee heads to the bench for the first time since Aug. 18, ending a streak of 17 consecutive starts for the rookie. Lee looks poised to handle a near-everyday role in the Detroit infield as the season winds down, but outside of maintaining a serviceable .260 batting average over his 289 plate appearances, he hasn't been a strong fantasy contributor (eight home runs, two steals, 37 RBI, 31 runs in 98 games).
