  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Sitting amid hot stretch

Palacios isn't in the Rays' starting lineup versus Texas on Sunday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

Palacios has been flashing his power lately, hitting three homers over his past four games. However, he'll spend at least part of Sunday on the bench with the Rangers sending lefty MacKenzie Gore to the mound. Ryan Vilade is filling in for Palacios at second base in the series finale.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Angels' Adam Frazier: Drawing third straight start

Frazier will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Frazier will stick in the lineup for a third straight game, this time covering an outfield spot after going 1-for-6 with a double and a run scored between the first two contests of the series while making starts at designated hitter and second base. The veteran utility man could have a path to fairly steady playing time in the short term, though Frazier could find himself as an odd man out of the lineup once Nolan Schanuel (intercostal) returns from the injured list.

  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Angels' Oswald Peraza: On bench for second straight game

Peraza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

The Angels will keep Peraza on the bench for a second straight day and will go with Vaughn Grissom at third base in the series finale in Pittsburgh. Before the two-game benching, Peraza had started the prior six contests, going 3-for-18 with a walk and a run scored.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Not in lineup Sunday

Clement isn't starting versus Kansas City on Sunday.

Clement started the past five contests but will begin Sunday on the bench. Josh Smith is starting at second base against right-hander Randy Dobnak.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Getting day off versus lefty

Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Though he was included in the lineup against southpaw Ranger Suarez during Friday's 1-0 loss, the left-handed-hitting Holliday will retreat to the bench Sunday while lefty Payton Tolle toes the rubber for the Red Sox. Blaze Alexander will cover second base in Holliday's stead in the series finale.

  • Red Sox's Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Delivers two runs in win

Kiner-Falefa started at second base and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Orioles.

Kiner-Falefa stroked a two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning to account for Boston's final offense. He entered the starting lineup as Nick Sogard moved from second to third base to cover for a slumping Caleb Durbin. With Durbin returning to the hot corner Sunday, per Christopher Smith of MassLive.com, Sogard moves back to the keystone and Kiner-Falefa returns to the bench. Kiner-Falefa has appeared in four of five games since being activated from the IL on Sept. 1, but only two of those outings have come as a starter.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Tallies two more hits Saturday

Torres went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Guardians.

That's now three straight two-hit games for Torres, who accomplished the feat twice during Friday's doubleheader against Cleveland. Hao-Yu Lee (lower leg) started Saturday after leaving the second game early Friday, and his presence figures to cut into Torres' role down the stretch. However, the veteran infielder served as the DH on Saturday, and he could see more time there as a way to keep his bat in the lineup while still getting Lee valuable developmental action in the field.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Sitting Saturday

Chisholm is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Padres on Saturday.

Chisholm will get a breather after going 0-for-6 with two walks, two strikeouts and a run scored over his last two outings. Amed Rosario will draw the start at second base while Jose Caballero mans the hot corner.

  • Hao Yu Lee 2B | DET

Tigers' Hao-Yu Lee: Starting at third base Saturday

Lee (lower leg) is starting at third base and batting second against the Guardians on Saturday.

Lee left the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Cleveland due to a left shin contusion, but he's been cleared to play in Saturday's AL Central clash. Lee has gone 5-for-18 (.278) with one home run, four RBI, three runs scored and six strikeouts over his last five outings.

  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Belts solo shot

Palacios went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Friday's 7-6 win over the Rangers.

Palacios recorded his second homer in the past three games when he launched a solo shot off Kumar Rocker in the fourth inning. The 29-year-old's seven homers this season are a new career high, breaking his previous record of six in 2023 with St. Louis. This year, Palacios is batting .225/.320/.348 with 42 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
