Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA
Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Likely to play Friday
Suarez (hand) is expected to be in Friday's lineup against the Cardinals, Alex Weiner of AZ Sports reports.
Suarez was hit in the hand by a pitch during the All-Star Game but avoided serious injury. Manager Torey Lovullo spoke with relative certainty that Suarez would be in the lineup Friday, but it will still be worth confirming before first pitch at 9:40 p.m. ET.

Connor Norby 2B | MIA
Marlins' Connor Norby: Out 6-to-8 weeks after hand surgery
Norby will be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks after undergoing surgery on a broken left hamate bone Wednesday, Craig Mish of FanDuel Sports Network Florida reports.
Norby landed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with what was referred to as left wrist inflammation at the time, but a visit with a specialist revealed the need for surgery. He will be shelved until at least late August, and players often struggle to regain their power stroke initially upon returning from a hamate operation. Graham Pauley should be the Marlins' primary third baseman while Norby is sidelined.

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: X-rays negative after HBP
X-rays on Suarez's left hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during the All-Star Game, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
After taking a 96-mph fastball off his hand in the eighth inning, Suarez remained in the game for the remainder of regulation, but he wasn't able to participate as planned in the extra-inning swing-off. It doesn't seem like he suffered any structural damage due to the incident, however, and he'll now have a couple of days off to recover before the second half kicks off Friday. The 33-year-old third baseman slashed .250/.320/.569 with 31 homers before the break and is a candidate to be traded over the next couple of weeks before the deadline.

Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Working with Soto on patience
Mauricio has been putting in work in the batting cage with Juan Soto to try and improve his plate discipline, Will Sammon of the Athletic reports.
Chasing balls out of the zone is the biggest weakness for Mauricio, and he couldn't ask for a better tutor in the art of staying patient than Soto, who boasts a career .418 OBP in the majors. "He has been progressing really well," Soto said Sunday. "He's a really smart kid. He's been doing a really good job in the cage. He's trying to stop chasing a little bit, and he's doing it the past couple weeks with good takes, better decisions and swinging the bat well. He is on the right path." The numbers back up the superstar's assessment -- after a 2-for-4 showing in Sunday's loss to the Royals, Mauricio is slashing .302/.388/.512 over his last 14 games with three doubles, two homers, and a palatable 22.4 percent strikeout rate against a 12.2 percent walk rate. If the 24-year-old switch hitter continues to work the count and get better pitches to hit, he could be in line for a big second half, and potentially alleviate the need for the Mets to pursue an upgrade at third base before the trade deadline.

Connor Norby 2B | MIA
Marlins' Connor Norby: Will see specialist over break
Norby (wrist) will see a specialist in Arizona over the All-Star break, Mike Cugno of CBS Miami reports.
The third baseman hasn't played since Friday due to what the Marlins have described as left wrist inflammation and was placed on the 10-day IL on Sunday, but it seems as though there's at least some concern the issue could be more serious. A timeline for Norby's return figures to come into focus once the joint has been examined.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Not starting Sunday
Bohm (ribs) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
As expected, Bohm won't start in the Phillies' final game before the All-Star break after he was lifted from Saturday's 5-4 loss in the fourth inning, two innings after he was hit on the left rib cage by a pitch. According to Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Bohm wasn't sent in for an X-rays after team trainers determined that he avoided a fracture, but the 28-year-old is still dealing with some residual soreness and bruising on his rib. Manager Rob Thomson didn't rule out the possibility of Bohm making a pinch-hitting appearance Sunday, though the Phillies would probably prefer to stay away from using him. Edmundo Sosa will fill in for Bohm at third base.

Nolan Arenado 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Remains out of lineup
Arenado (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Arenado will miss a second straight start while he recovers from the right index finger sprain he sustained Friday. The injury is a recurrence of one that he originally suffered June 30, but with the All-Star break on the horizon, Arenado should be ready to go when the Cardinals open their second-half schedule next Friday in Arizona.

Caleb Durbin 3B | MIL
Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Getting day off
Durbin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Anthony Seigler will check in at third base while Durbin rests for the series finale. Durbin had started in each of Milwaukee's last three games, going 5-for-10 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: On bench against lefty
Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Baty was included in the lineup Saturday while southpaw Angel Zerpa opened the game for Kansas City, but the young infielder will head to the bench Sunday against lefty starter Noah Cameron. Luisangel Acuna will replace Baty at second base and will bat ninth.

Graham Pauley 3B | MIA
Marlins' Graham Pauley: Moves up to majors
The Marlins recalled Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. He'll start at third base and bat eighth in the Marlins' series finale versus the Orioles.
The 24-year-old will fill in for Connor Norby (wrist), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. While Norby is on the shelf, Pauley could end up seeing the bulk of the stars at the hot corner, though the Marlins may shield him from left-handed pitching. Pauley posted a poor .545 OPS In 89 plate appearances with Miami earlier this season but had been sporting a hot bat at Triple-A prior to his latest call-up, slashing .395/.452/.789 with four home runs over his last 10 games for Jacksonville.
