Bohm could slide over to first base if the Phillies lose Rhys Hoskins (knee) for an extended period, Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Hoskins had to be carted off the field in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers after his left knee gave out on a play beyond the first base. The injury looked ugly, though there is no diagnosis just yet. Bohm moving to first makes sense, and Edmundo Sosa would probably then shift from a super-utility role to a regular presence at the hot corner. Darick Hall should also be in the first base picture, especially against tougher right-handed pitching opponents.... See More ... See Less

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Hitting with authority this spring
Bohm has slugged three home runs and three doubles through 35 at-bats this spring in Grapefruit League play. Bohm ranks in the top 15 in OPS (.971) across the combined Grapefruit League and Cactus League leaderboards. The 26-year-old third baseman had a rollercoaster season at the plate in 2022, but he put together a couple of encouraging stretches and came up with some big hits during the Phillies' postseason run to the World Series. Consequently, the 2023 season could potentially qualify as a breakout campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Solo shot in Game 3
Bohm went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Astros in Game 3 of the World Series. Bohm tacked on the third run of the night for the Phillies with a solo shot off Lance McCullers in the second inning, one of five homers for Philadelphia on the night. The 26-year-old has now recorded an extra-base hit in all three games of the World Series after hitting three in the previous 11 postseason games. Bohm is now hitting .208 with eight RBI in the postseason across 48 at-bats. The young third baseman will look to keep his power surge going Wednesday night in Game 4 of the World Series.... Phillies' Alec Bohm: Takes seat Wednesday
Bohm isn't starting Wednesday against Houston. Bohm is getting a rare day off during Wednesday's regular-season finale after going 3-for-17 with a home run, a double, two runs, two RBI and two strikeouts over the last four games. Dalton Guthrie will start at the hot corner and bat seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Finds home in No. 5 spot
Bohm will start at third base and bat fifth Monday against the Astros. Bohm had primarily served as the Phillies' No. 3 batter coming out of the All-Star break, but he's largely batted out of the No. 5 spot over the past three weeks, with Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto jumping him in the order. The 26-year-old could be in line for an off day Tuesday or Wednesday if the Phillies are able to clinch a wild-card spot Monday with a win or a Brewers loss to the Diamondbacks.... See More ... Phillies' Alec Bohm: Heads to bench
Bohm will sit Saturday against the Nationals. Bohm will sit for the first time in over two weeks. He's hit .309/.328/.400 in 13 games since his last time on the bench. Edmundo Sosa will handle the hot corner Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Notches triple against Miami
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's loss against the Marlins. Bohm recorded a two-run triple in the fifth to put the Phillies on top, his second extra-base hit of the game off Sandy Alcantara. The third baseman has recorded eight multi-hit performances in his last 16 games, slashing .358/.389/.507 over 72 plate appearances during that span. The 26-year-old boasts a .956 OPS in 154 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, much better than his .647 OPS in 376 plate appearances facing righties.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Racks up three hits
Bohm went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Giants. Bohm knocked three singles for his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. He's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with just two RBI and six runs scored in that span, but only one of those hits, a double, has gone for extra bases. The third baseman has surged to a .295/.328/.407 slash line with 10 home runs, 61 RBI, 70 runs scored and a stolen base through 125 contests this year, which makes his lackluster 2021 look like a simple sophomore slump.... Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sleeper hitters for Week 22 (Aug. 29-Sept. 4)
After a rough start to August, Bohm is back to piling up multi-hit games. He's also hitting .352 against lefties this year, and the Phillies have three of those on the schedule, including mashables like Madison Bumgarner and Tommy Henry.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sitting Thursday
Bohm is not in the starting lineup Thursday versus the Reds. Bohm will take a seat after he went 5-for-11 with two RBI and two runs scored in the first three games of the series. Edmundo Sosa will take over at third base and bat ninth in the series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Shouldn't miss time
Bohm (undisclosed) felt fine after being removed early from Monday's game against the Reds, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Bohm looked to be removed from the contest due to a lower-body injury, but after the game, skipper Rob Thomson stated he decided to pull the third baseman to go with better speed on the bases. Bohm should be ready to roll for Tuesday's matchup.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Pulled early
Bohm left Monday's game against the Reds with an undisclosed injury, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. According to Gelb, Bohm hadn't appeared to be moving well all game, and he was ultimately removed after the seventh inning. It's unclear at this time whether the injury will force him to miss any additional game action.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Homers twice, drives in six
Bohm went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI during Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Mets. Bohm opened the scoring with a three-run shot in the first inning and added another three-run homer in the fourth, both off of starter Jose Butto. The 26-year-old snapped a 15-game homerless drought and is now up to 10 long balls on the year. After posting a .902 OPS in his last 37 games before the start of August, Bohm was slashing just .208/.247/.292 through 18 games this month before Sunday's big performance.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Scores three times
Bohm went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks and three runs in Saturday's 11-5 win over the Nationals. Since June 24, Bohm has failed to record a hit in just three of his 31 contests, with the 26-year-old batting an incredible .393 over that stretch while scoring 22 runs and driving in 19. He'll look to stay hot in Sunday's series finale; he'll be included in the lineup at third base as the Phillies' No. 3 batter.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Slugs three-run homer
Bohm went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run Thursday against the Nationals. Bohm powered the Phillies to a rain-shortened victory, taking Paolo Espino yard in the third inning to tally his eighth homer of the season. He has at least one hit in 12 of 13 games coming out of the All-Star break and has maintained a .423 average with a pair of home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored in that span. For the season, Bohm has a .297/.327/.418 line across 391 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Possible waiver wire pickups
With a stretch of seven multi-hit games in eight, capped by a 4-for-5 performance Sunday, Bohm has brought his season-long batting average up to nearly .300. Take it back to 36 games, and he's batting .378 (54 for 143). The problem is that it's still mostly devoid of power. He has just three home runs during that stretch and only a .140 ISO. Still, the exit velocity is fine, and he's elevating much better than a year ago. He did have both a double and a home run Sunday, which offers some reason for hope. Given the shortage of viable third basemen in Fantasy, it's probably worth taking a shot at this point and just hoping the power comes around.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Collects four hits
Bohm went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Pirates. Bohm doubled and scored in the first inning and crossed home again in the fifth. He then capped off his huge day with a solo shot off of Dillon Peters in the sixth. The hot-hitting infielder went 33-for-76 (.434) with 15 runs scored and eight extra-base hits in 20 games this month. Bohm boosted his season slash line to .299/.331/.415 through 94 games.... Phillies' Alec Bohm: Possible waiver wire pickups
I can't explain what exactly has gotten into Bohm, but with his fourth straight multi-hit game Wednesday, he's suckering us into believing again. He's now batting .488 (20 for 41) during a 12-game hitting streak and .371 (46 for 124) in 32 games since mid-June. Of course, he has all of two home runs during that time, walking only four times and of course stealing no bases. That's about as hollow as a batting average gets. His average exit velocity and launch angle also haven't improved during that time, but then again, neither was so bad to begin with. I wouldn't say I'm eager to pick up the enigmatic 25-year-old, but at a position like third base, sometimes you just have to ride the hot hand.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sporting hot bat out of break
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a pair of base hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta. The 25-year-old will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's series finale, taking an 11-game hitting streak into the contest. That impressive stretch was preceded by a 12-game one that began June 21 and lasted until July 5, enabling him to maintain an outstanding .393 average for nearly five weeks. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Bohm's elite batting average hasn't translated to major counting-stats production; he's managed only two home runs, no stolen bases, 13 runs and 12 RBI between the two double-digit hitting streaks.... Phillies' Alec Bohm: Returns to lineup
Bohm (finger) is starting Saturday against Miami. Bohm sustained a dislocated left ring finger Monday against the Cardinals and didn't appear in any of the last three games. However, he'll start at third base and bat seventh during Saturday's matchup.... See More ... See Less
