Flores is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Royals.

After starting each of the previous four contests, Flores will exit the lineup for Friday's series opener. Henry Davis will do the catching for the Pirates.

Realmuto is not in the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Mets.

It's a routine day of rest after the veteran catcher started each of the previous five contests. Garrett Stubbs will be behind the dish for the Phillies on Thursday in Realmuto's stead.

Goodman (thumb) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

The Rockies will keep Goodman on the bench for a third straight game while he manages a sore right thumb, though the All-Star backstop is progressing in his recovery, per MLB.com. In Goodman's stead, Brett Sullivan will handle the catching duties Thursday.

Contreras is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Pittsburgh.

Contreras was behind the dish for the first two games of the series, so he will get a breather during Thursday's matinee. Bo Naylor is slotting in at catcher and will bat eighth for the Brewers.

The Dodgers announced Wednesday that Rushing (elbow) is continuing to work his way through a hitting progression with the hope of returning from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, MLB.com reports.

If Rushing ends up returning, he would be limited to serving as a designated hitter or pinch hitter off the bench since his injured right elbow hasn't been responding well to throwing. The 25-year-old has made tremendous strides as a hitter during his second big-league season, slashing .249/.332/.466 with 12 home runs in 250 plate appearances before landing on the shelf Sept. 6.

Smith is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Cincinnati.

Smith started at catcher Wednesday night, so he'll get a breather during Thursday's matinee. It will be Hunter Feduccia behind the dish for the Dodgers.

Flores went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Brewers.

Flores went deep in the sixth inning to tally his ninth home run of the season. He also extended his hitting streak to 10 games, during which he has hit .421 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored. Flores has emerged as a mainstay in the Pirates' lineup, serving as the primary catcher against righties while often starting at first base against lefties.

Moreno went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.

Moreno homered for the third time in four games, and he's logged multiple hits in four of his last six contests. The catcher is coming up clutch late in the season as the Diamondbacks try to stay in the fight for a playoff spot. Moreno is batting .307 with an .870 OPS, 15 homers, 32 doubles, one triple, 75 RBI, 65 runs scored and six stolen bases over 122 contests this year.

Salas went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Rockies.

Salas went yard in the second and fifth innings for the first two homers of his big-league career. All three of his hits so far have gone for extra bases -- his first career knock was a triple on Sunday in San Francisco. Salas is batting .143 with seven strikeouts over his first 21 plate appearances in the majors, so he still has some adjustments to make to hold his own against big-league pitchers.

Campusano is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Campusano will get a breather after going 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 9-3 loss to Colorado. Fernando Tatis will serve as the Padres' designated hitter Wednesday while Ethan Salas starts behind home plate and bats ninth.
