Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Absent from lineup
Realmuto (finger) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Marlins, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Realmuto had to be lifted from Tuesday's game after taking a foul tip off his right index finger. X-rays came back negative and he should be fine, but Realmuto will sit out at least one contest. Rafael Marchan is catching and batting ninth for the Phillies on Wednesday.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Swats clutch home run
Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.
Alvarez went deep in the eighth off Caleb Thielbar to put the Mets ahead 9-7. It was Alvarez's third home run in his last nine games, a span during which he's batting .310/.394/.690. Alvarez has quietly put together a productive second half of the season when he's been available. In 37 games since being recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on July 21, Alvarez is hitting .282/.363/.573 with seven homers and 19 RBI.

James McCann C | ARI
Diamondbacks' James McCann: Involved in win
McCann went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Dodgers.
Once the Diamondbacks got Los Angeles starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani out of the game after six shutout innings, McCann and company scored five times over the final three frames for the comeback win. McCann doubled in the first run and scored the third run in the seventh inning. His sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the ninth put two teammates in scoring position, and they both eventually scored for the win. McCann has been useful to Arizona's late-season push for the playoffs, going 5-for-17 with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI over his last five games.

Dodgers' Ben Rortvedt: Goes yard Tuesday
Rortvedt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.
The homer was Rortvedt's first of the season, giving the Dodgers a 4-0 lead in the seventh inning. He has seen steady playing time in September while filling in for Will Smith (hand). Over 15 games this month, Rortvedt has gone 11-for-40 (.275) with three extra-base hits and four RBI. He's up to a .275/.341/.400 slash line with 10 RBI, nine runs scored and three doubles across 117 plate appearances this season.

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Exits with bruised finger
Realmuto was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins with a right index finger contusion, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Realmuto took a foul ball off his hand while behind the plate during the ninth inning of Tuesday's contest, and he was later lifted for a pinch hitter. X-rays on his hand came back negative afterward, so he seems to have avoided severe damage, but the Phillies may give Rafael Marchan a start or two at catcher over the next couple of days to give Realmuto's finger time to heal.

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Getting rest Tuesday
Pages isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Giants, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Pages increased his hitting streak to four games with a double in Monday's contest, but he'll retreat to the bench Tuesday while Jimmy Crooks starts behind the plate and bats seventh.

Pirates' Joey Bart: Scratched with wrist injury
Bart was scratched from Tuesday's lineup in Cincinnati due to left wrist discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Bart had been slated to serve as the Pirates' designated hitter, but he'll need at least a day to rest a wrist issue. Bryan Reynolds will move from right field into the DH slot, while Alexander Canario has entered the lineup in right field.
