  • Nathan Eaton CF | BOS

Red Sox's Nate Eaton: Back with big club

The Red Sox recalled Eaton from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

Eaton will return to provide outfield depth for Game 162 of the regular season, though he seems unlikely to be on Boston's playoff roster. The 29-year-old has slashed just .146/.293/.250 with one home run and two steals in 58 major-league plate appearances this season.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Absent from lineup for finale

Tatis is not in the lineup for Sunday's tilt versus the Diamondbacks.

It's the first day off since Aug. 12 for Tatis, who has been scorching-hot to close out the regular season in slashing .337/.413/.652 with eight home runs in September. Dustin Harris will play right field, and Jake Cronenworth will cover second base for the Padres in Sunday's finale.

  • Luis Lara RF | MIL

Brewers' Luis Lara: Exiting starting nine

Lara is not in the lineup for Sunday's contest versus the Cardinals.

Lara will begin Sunday's festivities on the bench while Sal Frelick plays right field for the Brewers. The rookie outfielder has struggled down the stretch for Milwaukee, slashing only .188/.243/.203 in September.

  • Bryan Torres LF | STL

Cardinals' Bryan Torres: Not starting Sunday

Torres is absent from the lineup for Sunday's contest in Milwaukee.

Torres started in left field five of the previous six times the Cardinals have faced a righty, but he'll begin Sunday's finale on the bench. Jose Fermin will patrol left field for St. Louis.

  • Juan Soto LF | NYM

Mets' Juan Soto: In lineup for finale

Soto (hand) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Soto was plunked on his right hand in the ninth inning Saturday, but X-rays were negative and he will tough it out for the Mets' season finale. Now a five-time All-Star, Soto has an OPS north of .900 for the fourth consecutive season, though a couple of IL stints ate into his counting stats in 2026.

  • Jordan Walker RF | STL

Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Making first start in leadoff spot

Walker will make his first career start in the leadoff spot Sunday against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Walker has primarily hit third or fourth for St. Louis in 2026, but the Cardinals will move him to the leadoff spot for the season finale, which should get the outfielder an extra at-bat or two as he tries to reach an even 30 homers for the year. The 24-year-old has put together a fantastic season overall, though he's regressed sharply to .238/.291/.379 since the All-Star break.

  • Cole Carrigg CF | COL

Rockies' Cole Carrigg: Keeps up hot September

Carrigg went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the White Sox.

It was a big offensive day for the Rockies, and Carrigg did his part with his ninth multi-hit performance across 23 games in September. Much of that production has come at Coors Field, but Carrigg contributed an RBI single in the ninth inning while also tallying his 22nd double of the season in Saturday's win at Rate Field. Overall, Carrigg is ending his rookie season in strong form, hitting .330 with five homers, 16 RBI and 11 runs scored for the month.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Drives in two runs Saturday

Caglianone went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-5 loss to the Guardians.

Caglianone laced a pair of doubles, one in the first inning and another in the eighth frame, each of which brought in a run. The 23-year-old is closing the season strong, going 12-for-24 (.500) with five RBI, six runs and a stolen base over his past six contests. On the year, Caglianone is hitting .287/.339/.492 with 23 homers, 75 RBI, 72 runs and seven stolen bases in 142 games.

  • Rays' Victor Mesa: Four-hit effort in rout

Mesa went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Phillies.

Mesa drove in a run on a single in the fifth inning before lacing an RBI double in the sixth. It was the 25-year-old's first career four-hit performance, and he's hitting .333 with 10 extra-base hits, 11 RBI and 17 runs scored over 22 September games. Overall, he's slashing .260/.328/.502 with 14 homers, 33 RBI, 37 runs scored and nine steals across his first 258 major-league plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Nabs another steal

Arozarena went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Angels.

Arozarena has collected five steals over his last 14 games. He's had plenty of chances to run lately, hitting .364 (20-for-55) in that span. The outfielder is up to 26-for-34 on steal attempts this season while batting .281 with an .863 OPS, 26 home runs, 77 RBI, 32 doubles and two triples over 153 contests. Arozarena also leads the American League with 112 runs scored, trailing only Pete Crow-Armstrong (119) in the majors.
