Smart agreed to a four-year, $77.1 million max contract extension with the Celtics on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Smart's new deal is fully guaranteed through the 2025-26 season and includes a trade kicker. Last year, the 27-year-old averaged 13.1 points and 5.7 assists across 32.9 minutes per game -- all career highs. The Celtics acquired Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson this offseason to replace the departures of Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier, but Smart will likely lead all Boston guards in minutes played.
