Dejean-Jones underwent an MRI on Thursday that revealed a fractured right wrist that will require surgery Friday. The team plans to release a timetable following the surgery.
Dejean-Jones had begun to carve out a solid role for the Pelicans, averaging 22.2 minutes per game with the team in February. However, the undrafted rookie out of Iowa State suffered a wrist injury against the 76ers on Feb. 19 and though he has played through it for two games, he will have to undergo surgery Friday. With Dejean-Jones out for the time being, Toney Douglas and Alonzo Gee figure to pick up some extra minutes at shooting guard.
