Hill underwent surgery Sunday to repair a torn hamstring and is expected to be sidelined for a portion of the upcoming season, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

While it's unclear when Hill suffered the injury, the timetable for his recovery is six-to-eight months, which should keep him out for the majority of the upcoming season. It's a tough blow for Hill, as he was the favorite to open the season as the team's starting small forward. Instead, Hill will start the 2017-18 campaign working back from his injury, which should give guys like E'Twaun Moore and Quincy Pondexter more opportunities for playing time.
