The Thunder waived Smith on Friday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Smith scored seven points in just five minutes during Tuesday's preseason win over Indiana, connecting on all three of his field-goal attempts, including a three-pointer. Despite that efficient showing, the guard was unable to earn a roster spot and will enter free agency.
