Zeller (nose) will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Warriors, Blazers reporter Casey Holdahl reports. Zeller broke his nose early in the preseason and will end up missing another game, as Portland finishes out its exhibition schedule. Zeller (nose) will not play Wednesday against the Suns. The Blazers removed Zeller from the injury report Tuesday, but that report was apparently inaccurate, as the big man will remain out as he nurses a broken nose. Zeller (nose) is not on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's preseason game against Phoenix. This is somewhat of a surprise after it was reported Monday night that Zeller would likely miss the remainder of the preseason. It's possible the Blazers could still hold him out of their final two exhibitions while he recovers from a broken nose, but the big man has been officially cleared to return to action. Zeller is in line to serve as the backup center behind Jusuf Nurkic this season.
Zeller (nose) will likely miss the rest of the preseason, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports. However, coach Chauncey Billups stated that he's hopeful Zeller will be ready to go for the Blazers' regular season opener against the Kings on Oct. 20. The center broke his nose during last Monday's preseason contest against the Warriors.

Fresh off of signing a one-year deal with Portland, Zeller's regular season debut with the team will most likely be placed on hold after sustaining a broken nose during Monday's exhibition contest. According to Allen, Zeller's timeline to return will be determined after his surgery. Larry Nance, Patrick Patterson, Robert Covington and Greg Brown are all candidates to see extended action if the veteran big man misses time.
