Jets' James Burgess: Suffers injury Monday

Burgess suffered a lower-back injury in practice Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

It's unclear how serious the issue is and if it will cost Burgess significant time, but coach Adam Gase said it was a non-contact injury. When healthy, the 26-year-old is expected to compete with Neville Hewitt for a starting gig during training, in the wake of C.J. Mosley having opted out of the season.
