Adams was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Adams had a strong finish to the preseason with 12 carries for 62 yards and three catches for 17 yards Friday against the Eagles, but it wasn't enough to secure a spot on the initial 53-man roster. New York hopes to keep the 24-year-old around on the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
