Lions' Derrick Deese: Placed on active/NFI list

Deese was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Lions on Thursday.

Deese will remain eligible to return to practice and eventually play at any point this preseason as he nurses an injury. With the Lions' first preseason contest coming Aug. 11 versus the Giants, the tight end has three weeks to get right before game action.
