Montee Ball: Signed to New England practice squad

Ball was signed to the Patriots' practice squad Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

With LeGarrette Blount (hip) uncertain for Week 15, there's some chance Ball will be promoted to the active roster. Still, the former second-round pick has been consistently unimpressive during his time in the NFL, and he'd likely just provide depth behind Brandon Bolden and former college teammate James White.
