Hogan was on the field for 73 of the Patriots' 81 snaps on offense in Thursday's 42-27 loss to the Chiefs, per ESPN's Mike Reiss. In the process, he hauled in just one of his five targets for eight yards and ran three times for 17 yards.

Hogan's Week 1 production leaves something to be desired, but he actually led the Patriots' wideouts in playing time, with splashy offseason acquisition Brandin Cooks seeing action on 67 snaps, while Danny Amendola turned his 32 snaps into six catches for 100 yards before exiting the game with a head injury. Meanwhile, newcomer Phillip Dorsett saw 18 snaps, and his profile in the offense could expand if Amendola is forced to miss any time. Looking ahead, a potential shootout on the road against the Saints in Week 2 looks like an obvious bounce-back opportunity for Hogan, who seems destined for plenty of playing time this season, health permitting.
