Gambrell was placed on waivers by the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Gambrell hasn't yet made his regular-season debut for the Blue Jackets, and he should head to the AHL if he clears waivers. He'll likely spend most of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.
