Ovechkin had a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Hurricanes.

Washington came in having dropped three in a row overall and six straight at home, so Ovechkin took it upon himself to put the team on his back by revitalizing the Capitals' struggling power play. After assisting on Evgeny Kuznetsov's first-period goal, Ovie made the Hurricanes pay for leaving him alone in his office in the second, wiring the puck past Frederik Andersen to extend Washington's lead to 3-0. The goal was just Ovechkin's fourth in the past 12 games, but he's still within striking distance in the Rocket Richard Trophy race with 33 in 54 games.
