Capitals' Spencer Smallman: Waived by Washington

Smallman was placed on waivers by the Capitals on Friday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Smallman has yet to appear in an NHL game with any organization. While productive at the AHL level, at 29 years old, his window to earn an NHL opportunity is quickly closing.
