Haula (illness) skated Wednesday, but he won't play in the evening's preseason game against Washington, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
It's the first time Haula has been on the ice with his teammates since training camp began. Although Haula needs some time to get back to full strength, he might still be an option for Friday's exhibition contest versus the Islanders. The 33-year-old had 16 goals and 35 points in 76 regular-season outings in 2023-24.
