Golden Knights' Shea Weber: Contract sent to Vegas

Weber (ankle) was traded from the Canadiens to the Golden Knights on Thursday in exchange for Evgenii Dadonov.

This is more of a business move than a hockey move, as it's unlikely Weber will play again. The Golden Knights will stash Weber on long-term injured reserve, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. The defenseman has four years left on his contract.
