Staal has exited the COVID-19 protocols and was spotted in practice Sunday, according to Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.
Staal was one of five Carolina players that exited the COVID-19 protocols this weekend. The fact that he was able to skate Sunday is certainly a good sign for his availability ahead of Thursday's game against Montreal.
