Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Poised to play

Barzal (undisclosed) is expected to play against Detroit on Tuesday, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday.

After skipping the morning skate for maintenance, Barzal will center the top line against the Red Wings. He has accounted for nine goals, 25 points, 75 shots on net and 24 blocked shots in 32 appearances this season.
