Carter agreed to terms on a two-year, $6.25 million contract extension with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Carter joined the Penguins from the Kings back in April of 2021 with a year and a half remaining on the 11-year, $58 million deal he signed with the Flyers back in November of 2020. With 21 goals and 16 helpers in just 50 games for Pittsburgh, it seems the veteran is eager to stick around the Steel City for a little longer. When everybody is healthy, Carter figures to anchor the Pens' third line, though he has been called upon to play further up the depth chart from time to time.
