Red Wings' James van Riemsdyk: Ready to rock

Van Riemsdyk (not injury related) was activated from the non-roster status Saturday.

Van Riemsdyk missed most of training camp due to a personal matter and sat out Thursday's opener against Montreal while getting back up to game speed. He will probably play on the fourth line alongside Michael Rasmussen and Mason Appleton. The Red Wings reassigned defenseman Erik Gustafsson to AHL Grand Rapids in a corresponding move.
