  • Valimaki recorded an assist, two shots and three hits in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 4. Making his postseason debut, the Finnish blueliner managed an assist. It's his fourth point in 25 contests including the regular season. Valimaki replaced Oscar Fantenberg on the third pairing for this contest, but it's unclear if he did enough Wednesday to maintain the lineup spot for Friday's Game 5.

  • Flames' Juuso Valimaki: Drawing into Game 4 lineup
    By RotoWire Staff

Valimaki will make his first postseason appearance in Wednesday's Game 4 against the Avalanche. Valimaki has been an observer more often than not since his March 31 recall from AHL Stockton. He replaces Oscar Fantenberg on the third pairing with Rasmus Andersson, as the Flames find themselves in need of a jolt after falling behind 2-1 in the series with Monday's 6-2 loss in Game 3. Valimaki registered a goal and two assists in 24 games at the NHL level in his rookie year.

Valimaki had an assist in Monday's 7-2 win over the Kings. The Finnish defender hadn't featured in an NHL game since Nov. 23 after an ankle injury. Valimaki stayed at AHL Stockton to get back up to game speed, but he will likely remain on the NHL roster for the Flames' playoff run. The rookie has a goal and two helpers in 23 games this year.

Valimaki was recalled from AHL Stockton on Monday. The 20-year-old defenseman will get another shot with the big club, as he's produced 14 points in 20 games for Stockton this campaign. Valimaki will suit up in Monday's game against the Kings, but it likely won't change anything from a fantasy perspective, as he has just two points in 22 NHL games this season.

  • Flames' Juuso Valimaki: Untouchable at deadline
    By RotoWire Staff

Valimaki appreciated general manager Brad Treliving's confidence to hold onto him at the trade deadline, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports. Valimaki has appeared in 11 games at AHL Stockton, recording a goal and seven assists while appearing in all situations as he rehabs an ankle injury. The Finnish blueliner may see a call-up for the stretch run to bolster a Flames defense that allows 2.78 goals per game, eighth best in the NHL.
