Six minutes passed and No. 2 Roger Federer already held a 3-0 lead over No. 29 Philipp Kohlschreiber in their third-round US Open match Saturday. For the third time this tournament, Federer jumped on his opponent in the early going, didn't let up throughout the match, and closed out yet another easy win, besting Kohlschreiber in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

With the win, Federer secured his spot in Round 4 at the 2015 US Open, getting one step closer to his sixth US Open title. He'll face No. 13 John Isner next.

After Federer leaped out to the 3-0 lead, Kohlschreiber had his shot at regaining the break that he had lost. With Federer up 3-1 and serving, Kohlschreiber failed to convert on two break-point opportunities, as Federer continued his masterful display of serving. The moment passed and Federer didn't allow his foe another chance to get back into the first set.

After 26 minutes, Federer took the first set.

In the second set, Kohlschreiber finally managed to break Federer when Federer appeared to lose focus. But that lapse in concentration wouldn't come back to bite Federer. After the set's sixth game, Federer led 4-2, as he broke Kohlschreiber twice.

Federer even utilized his sneak-attack on Kohlschreiber's serve. It didn't go well for Kohlschreiber.

In under an hour, Federer led two sets to none.

But the third set began with Kohlschreiber holding serve and breaking Federer. Unsurprisingly, Federer fought back. And, again, Kohlschreiber's moment passed. Federer broke Kohlschreiber in the next game.

After eight games, the score was knotted up at four games apiece. Then in the ninth game, Federer broke Kohlschreiber with a vicious backhand that overpowered Kohlschreiber at the net.

Federer quickly served out the match without a hiccup. He won in just 93 minutes.
