LOOK: J.K. Simmons is 61 and holy hell is he getting ripped for his new movie
And you thought he was intense in Whiplash

J.K. Simmons is one of those actors you probably recognize, even if you don't know his name.
"Oh, that's that one guy who played the dad in that one movie."
Well, Simmons is trying to make sure you remember his name next time you see him.
In preparation for his role in the upcoming Justice League film, Simmons has been hitting the gym -- hard.
Multiple photos have surfaced of the 61-year-old looking like he's ready to enter a bodybuilding competition, biceps bulging and veins popping.
Simmons, who won an Oscar for his supporting role in Whiplash, will play Commissioner Gordon in Justice League, set for a 2017 release. It will feature a host of familiar superheroes, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Since he's not playing a superhero and his role is reportedly small, we're not sure why Simmons is getting so jacked. Maybe there's a surprise in store.
